About Cerys

I am a psychology undergraduate at Durham University with an exceptional academic record thus far and a passion for learning and helping others to achieve their best!
I have two years of experience tutoring and almost eight years of teaching and passing on my knowledge in karate and so I have developed the essential skills for helping you on your personal journey!
I have several students who can attest to my professionalism and helpfulness, as I have also been helping them by inspiring confidence and creating notable improvements, even after just their first hour of learning with me!

About the lesson

Tutoring is all about the interaction between a tutor and a student in order to build the trust that I, as your tutor, will help you to achieve what you want and more!
I aspire to create a mutual understanding of what you need and what I am able to provide. I am very patient and friendly, merely a guide here to help you in any way that I can!
My methods involve first and foremost seeing your abilities, getting to know your personal 'struggle areas' and coming up with a plan that were both comfortable with in order to have a goal and a time frame. I will help you organise yourself, with no additional pressures, I'm only here to help you to achieve your best!
Typically a lesson is a hour long, however I'm flexible to what works for you, nothing needs to be set in stone.
I have previous experience in tutoring, having both previous and current students who have improved in both grades and confidence since working with me. I am an undergraduate at Durham University studying psychology, so I tutor all ages up to A Level. My current students are in high school or are doing their GCSEs. However I achieved an A* in criminology, an A in history and an A in psychology at A Level so I am more than happy to tutor at A Level as well.
