About Sunnie

Hello! My name is Sunnie, and I am a dedicated educator, tutor, and communication professional with a Bachelor of Arts in English (Magna Cum Laude) and a Master of Business Administration. I currently serve as a Faculty Scholar and have been providing tutoring, editing, and academic coaching services since 2016.

I believe every student has the ability to succeed when given the right support, encouragement, and learning strategies. My teaching approach is patient, engaging, and highly personalized. I take the time to understand each student's strengths, challenges, and learning style, then adapt my instruction to help them gain confidence and achieve their goals.

My experience includes helping students improve their writing, reading comprehension, grammar, study skills, critical thinking, and overall academic performance. I enjoy breaking down complex concepts into manageable steps and finding creative ways to help students understand and retain information. While consistent reading and writing practice are important, I also incorporate discussion, real-world examples, visual learning techniques, guided practice, and interactive activities to keep lessons engaging and effective.

Students and families appreciate my supportive teaching style, attention to detail, strong communication skills, and commitment to helping learners build both academic skills and self-confidence. Whether a student needs help catching up, staying on track, or excelling beyond expectations, I strive to create a positive learning environment where growth and success feel achievable.

About the lesson

My approach to tutoring is highly interactive, supportive, and student-centered. I believe that every student learns differently, so I adapt my teaching methods to fit each learner's strengths, needs, and goals rather than relying on a one-size-fits-all approach.

While reading and writing practice are important parts of language development, I also look for creative and engaging ways to explain concepts. I often use discussion, real-world examples, visual aids, guided practice, questioning techniques, storytelling, and hands-on activities to help students fully understand and retain what they are learning. My goal is not simply to help students complete assignments, but to help them build confidence and develop critical thinking and communication skills that will serve them long-term.

A typical lesson begins with a brief review of previous material, followed by targeted instruction on a specific skill or concept. Students then practice what they have learned through guided activities, discussion, reading, writing, or interactive exercises. I provide constructive feedback throughout the lesson and adjust instruction as needed to ensure understanding and progress.

What sets me apart as a tutor is my combination of academic expertise, teaching experience, and ability to build meaningful relationships with students. As a Faculty Scholar, freelance tutor, editor, and MBA graduate with a Bachelor's degree in English (Magna Cum Laude), I bring both strong subject knowledge and a patient, encouraging teaching style. I enjoy helping students gain confidence and discover that learning can be engaging and rewarding.

My lessons are suitable for elementary, middle school, high school, college, and adult learners. I specialize in English, writing, reading comprehension, grammar, literature, study skills, academic coaching, and communication development.
