About Gabriella

Educational background:
-BA in English from University of Hartford
-Currently enrolled in OSU's MFA program for Fiction

I am very passionate about teaching, and I truly believe that one-on-one tutoring is one of the most effective teaching styles. In our sessions, YOU are in charge!

About the lesson

My teaching method is very collaborative. I typically start by asking my students what their needs, goals, and expectations are, and then we work together to create lesson plans. Depending on the work we do, I often offer writing prompts, and some sessions are spent doing free writes.

Being Latinx myself, I specialize in Latinx literature, but incorporate readings by authors from all backgrounds and across genres. I've primarily worked with high schoolers and freshmen in undergrad, but I am willing to take on students at all levels. Ultimately, my students' needs come first, and I am happy to adjust accordingly based on those needs.

Gabriella always takes the time to properly break down whatever one may not fully grasp in a way that makes sense to their specific ways of thinking. When something does begin to make sense, she will always share a passionate amount of support and enthusiasm. Always happy to watch one grow, both as a friend and a teacher.
