About Stephen

Hi! I’m a native English speaker from the United States with a passion for languages, travel, and connecting with people from different cultures.

I graduated with a 3.91 GPA, double-majoring in French and Economics. I’ve lived in France, traveled to 35 countries, and spent months immersed in French and Spanish speaking communities. I’m trilingual, speaking English, French, and advanced conversational Spanish.

I’ve also volunteered as an English as a Second Language (ESL) tutor at my local church and have experience working with children. Professionally, I work in the insurance industry, where communication, patience, and explaining complex information are essential parts of my job.

Having learned foreign languages myself, I understand how intimidating it can be to speak a new language in real-world situations. I also know how rewarding it feels when you can finally communicate confidently with someone in another country.

I genuinely enjoy meeting new people, sharing experiences, and helping others succeed. I’d love to help you feel as comfortable speaking English as I have become speaking other languages through my travels and experiences abroad!

About the lesson

My lessons focus on helping you speak English confidently in everyday situations. Whether you’re traveling, ordering food at a restaurant, meeting new people, navigating a new city, or simply having a conversation, my goal is to help you communicate naturally and comfortably.

I believe the best way to learn a language is by actually using it! Our lessons will be interactive, relaxed, and centered around real conversations rather than memorizing vocabulary or completing repetitive exercises.

Most importantly, you decide what you want to learn. I’ll tailor each lesson to your personal goals, interests, and English level. Whether you want to improve your conversational fluency, prepare for a trip, practice professional English, or work on something specific, we’ll focus on what matters most to you.

As someone who speaks French and Spanish and has lived abroad, I understand firsthand how challenging and rewarding learning a new language can be. I can also explain concepts in French or Spanish when helpful.

My goal is to create a friendly, encouraging environment where you’re comfortable speaking, asking questions, making mistakes, and building confidence with every lesson!
