About Elsa

¿Empezamos? My goal is to create a relaxed, supportive space where you feel comfortable speaking from the very first lesson—no pressure, just progress.

Lessons are tailored to you, helping you build confidence, improve communication, and enjoy the learning process at your own pace. Whether you want to pass exams, travel, or simply feel more fluent, we’ll work together to achieve your goals step by step.

Expect a friendly, encouraging environment where mistakes are part of learning and every lesson leaves you feeling more confident than the last!

About the lesson

Hola! ¿Qué tal? I’m Elsa, a passionate and experienced tutor currently teaching Spanish and Catalan at Durham University, with over 3 years of higher education-level teaching experience. Before that, I taught Spanish in a primary school in Manchester—so I know how to make learning effective and enjoyable for all ages!

My lessons are dynamic, interactive, and tailored to your goals. I focus on building confidence through real communication—speaking, listening, reading, and writing from day one. I combine structured grammar with practical conversation, using authentic materials, games, and cultural insights to keep things engaging and relevant.

Typically, lessons last 60 minutes, but I can adapt the length to suit your needs and schedule.

Experience and qualifications:
• Lecturer of Spanish and Catalan at Durham University (3 years)
• Former primary school Spanish teacher in Manchester
• Degree in English and Catalan Studies (Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona)
• Master’s in Teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language (UNIR)

Who are my lessons for?
Students of all levels and ages are welcome! Whether you're a complete beginner, preparing for exams, improving conversation skills, or learning for travel or work—I’ll tailor each lesson just for you.

Friendly, supportive, and results-driven—let’s make language learning something you genuinely enjoy!

Ready to start your journey? ¡Vamos!
