Professional Introduction Hello! My name is De’ Aundra, and I am an experienced PreK-8th grade educator with a BA in Education. For over a decade, I have worked with students of all abilities, helping them strengthen their reading, writing, and overall English Language Arts skills. My approach is professional yet warm—I combine proven teaching strategies with patience, creativity, and encouragement to make learning both effective and enjoyable. I understand that every student learns differently, which is why I create personalized lessons tailored to each child’s unique needs and goals. Parents can trust that I bring strong communication skills, reliability, and a genuine passion for student success to every session. My goal is not just to improve grades, but to help students build confidence, independence, and a lifelong love of learning. About the lesson

My Approach as a Tutor Teaching Method & Techniques I believe every child can succeed when instruction is tailored to their unique learning style. My lessons are interactive, student-centered, and designed to build both skill and confidence. I use a mix of direct instruction, guided practice, and hands-on activities, along with games and creative strategies to keep learning engaging. For struggling readers and writers, I incorporate scaffolding, phonics, comprehension strategies, and writing frameworks. For advanced learners, I provide enrichment activities that challenge them to think critically and express themselves effectively. A Typical Lesson Plan A standard session begins with a quick check-in and review of prior material to activate knowledge. Then, we set a clear objective for the day (for example: identifying main ideas in a passage, structuring a persuasive paragraph, or expanding vocabulary). The lesson moves through three stages: Mini-Lesson – I model the skill or strategy. Guided Practice – We work through examples together, with scaffolding as needed. Independent Practice/Creative Application – The student applies the skill in a short activity, project, or real-world connection. We end with a short reflection and goal-setting to track progress and keep momentum. What Sets Me Apart Experience Across Grade Levels: I’ve taught and tutored PreK through 8th grade, giving me a strong understanding of developmental stages in reading and writing. BA in Education: My background in education allows me to draw from proven instructional strategies.
