Although representing oneself was challenging, I gained valuable experience in legal procedure, communication, and evidence handling. I learned the importance of preparation, staying composed under pressure, and keeping my arguments aligned with the legal principles of self-defense.

About the lesson

Courtroom tutoring for self-representation

Before court:

Learn how to structure your pleadings and evidence.

Understand the legal test you must meet (e.g., in insurance disputes, burden of proof).

Prepare a timeline and bundle of documents.

In court:

Address the judge formally.

Present your case logically (facts → law → conclusion).

Cross-examine the other side’s witnesses respectfully.

After hearing:

Summarise why the evidence supports your position.

Highlight inconsistencies in the other side’s case.
