About Giuseppe
Giuseppe is a Southern Italian PhD student in Civil Engineering at the University of Bristol.
Coming from an area frequently hit by earthquakes, floods, and landslides, he became a civil engineer.
His PhD aims to understand how the water vulnerability of networks of bridges affects community resilience.
To address this question, he combines risk and reliability analyses with machine learning techniques.
At The Alan Turing Institute, he works on multi-disciplinary projects for reducing the impact of natural hazards on society.
Aside from work, he likes documentaries, music, cinema, theatre, and gardening.
He is keen to discover how mathematics, physics, literature, history, philosophy, geography, music, cinema, computer science and psychology can co-exist, since they are magnifically connected to each other.
