About Haleema

Hello, my name is Haleema, and I am an experienced English tutor based in the UK. I hold a Primary PGCE and Qualified Teacher Status, which I obtained in 2017. Over the past seven years, I have taught both primary and secondary students, initially focusing on younger learners before transitioning to older age groups. My Teaching Experience Includes: - Supporting students learning English as an additional language - Teaching students with special educational needs, including dyslexia, dyspraxia, and autism - Working in both primary and secondary school settings - Delivering engaging, interactive lessons tailored to individual learning styles - Teaching in both one-on-one and group settings. I have a strong track record of helping students reach their full potential through structured, supportive, and engaging instruction. Outside of teaching, I am passionate about baking, fitness, and reading.

About the lesson

With over 7 years of teaching experience, I completed my PGCE and gained my Qualified Teacher Status in 2017. I spent the first 3 years teaching students in key stages 1 and 2. Planning, preparing and supporting students through school. During this time I taught a large number of students who were learning English as an additional language. Over the last 5 years I have supported students in secondary education, specifically those with special educational needs. Literacy is my main focus. I used different teaching techniques and interventions to support students through their learning journey. Alongside completing my degree I worked as a personal tutor for students, helping to create individualised learning programmes in numeracy, literacy and science. My typical lessons last up to an hour but I am always happy to adapt depending on student needs.
