About Zixu

I am a PhD candidate at Princeton University focusing on machine learning and robotics. Previously, I received my Bachelor's degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with the highest honor. I graduated from a high school where AP is not offered, but I self-taught 7AP classes during my senior year and got 5s for all those subjects.

I am passionate about teaching. I have been a teaching assistant since my sophomore year at college. I also co-developed a new undergraduate engineering class at Princeton in 2021 and earned the department teaching award.

My interactive and student-centered approach helps demystify complex concepts, making them accessible and engaging.

My lessons focus on understanding your unique learning style and adapting my techniques to fit your needs. By incorporating a blend of direct instruction and guided practice, I will ensure that every concept is mastered with practical problem-solving skills.

Each session will be planned based on your background and academic goal. We'll start with a quick review of previous material to reinforce your understanding, followed by introducing new concepts. Most of our time will be spent actively solving problems and addressing any challenges you face along the way.

With a solid background in math, science, and engineering, I will bring a well-rounded perspective to my tutoring. My approach is not just about helping you pass your exams; it’s about building a deep understanding and appreciation for the subject matter, fostering critical thinking skills, and developing problem-solving strategies that you can apply beyond the classroom.

My lessons are specifically tailored for:
- **High School Students:** Whether you're tackling algebra, geometry, physics, or computer science or planning to excel in honor class, AP, or even AMC. I can help you succeed in your coursework and prepare for college-level studies.
- **College Freshmen and Sophomores:** If you're enrolled in introductory engineering or computer science classes and need some extra help with the basics, I’m here to guide you.
