I am a retired family physician with a strong science and math background who desires to share his knowledge in many subject areas (math, chemistry, biology, environmental science, statistics, and especially health and disease). I have been educating patients and staff throughout my 35 + years as a physician and am called by friends and family from across the US all the time for "medical" advise. I generally find teaching in response to a question or comment most helpful and most likely to be remembered. For example, I could give a lecture on how to distinguish serious belly pain from something as unpleasant as gas, but you would be much more likely to remember the information if you were presently or have recently experienced abdominal pain. So, I could give a lecture on "How to Select a Good Doctor", but the advise would be much more useful if you were in the process of trying to find a new medical provider.
