About Antonia
I am a specialist literacy & SEND Tutor offering personalised literacy tuition for neurodivergent and SEND learners of all ages
I have extensive teaching experience, having taught in both mainstream & specialist autism and learning needs schools. I teach Key Stage 1 to Key Stage 5. I also have many years experience of private tutoring — giving me a genuinely broad understanding of how children and young people learn, and what gets in the way.
I have extensive experience supporting students with autism, ADHD, PDA (Pathological Demand Avoidance) and emotionally based school avoidance (EBSA).
I offer warm, expert, one-to-one and small-group support for reading, spelling, writing, handwriting, grammar and study skills — delivered by a fully qualified teacher with 17 years' teaching experience, including several years as a SENDCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator).

I offer neurodivergent-friendly, trauma-informed tuition. My approach is collaborative, low-demand and autonomy-preserving; built on a real understanding of how neurodivergent learners process information, manage sensory input and navigate social demands.
Lessons are adapted to each young person's communication style, processing time and sensory needs, using visual supports, clear language and predictable structure. Every session is personalised around special interests and real-world applications, making literacy feel relevant and achievable rather than another daily battle.
Alongside academic progress, I place real emphasis on emotional regulation, confidence and self-esteem. Many of the young people I work with have experienced anxiety, trauma or repeated setbacks in education — my priority is creating a calm, structured, safe space where they feel capable and understood, not judged.
