About Lourens
Hello! I am a highly experienced English teacher with over 30 years of teaching children and more than 7 years of online teaching.
I specialize in helping students become confident English speakers through engaging, interactive lessons. My approach focuses on building confidence first, so students feel comfortable speaking and expressing their ideas.
Over the years, I have taught children of all levels, from complete beginners to more advanced students. I understand how to adapt lessons to suit each child’s personality, ability, and learning style.
My lessons are energetic, supportive, and structured, creating a positive environment where students enjoy learning and are encouraged to participate.
I am passionate about helping students develop real communication skills, not just memorizing vocabulary, so they can use English naturally in everyday situations.

In my FreeTalk News lessons, students learn how to speak English confidently through real-world topics and engaging discussion.
A typical lesson includes:
• A short, interesting news story or global topic
• Key vocabulary explained clearly
• Guided questions to help students express their ideas
• Structured speaking practice so every student participates
Students do not just listen — they speak in every lesson and learn how to form their own opinions in English.
My teaching method focuses on building confidence first, then improving fluency and accuracy. I create a relaxed and supportive environment where students feel comfortable speaking without fear of making mistakes.
These lessons are ideal for students between the ages of 10 and 14 who:
• Already understand basic English
• Want to improve speaking and fluency
• Need to build confidence when expressing ideas
• Are tired of textbook-based learning
What makes my lessons different is that I use real-world content instead of traditional materials. Students learn how to communicate naturally, think in English, and talk about meaningful topics.
Over time, students become more confident, more fluent, and more comfortable speaking English in real situations.
