I earned an English degree and a Master's in Special Education and I have 15 years of experience in middle and high school. Additionally, I have done online and in-person tutoring for 3 years. I’m an experienced middle and high school special education teacher who specializes in students who struggle with reading, writing, and executive function skills. I get to know my students’ learning style so that I can tailor their lessons specifically for them. My ultimate goal is to gradually release them to independence by modeling new concepts, supporting students while they work on the unfamiliar content, and cheering them on as they discover how to complete the lesson independently. I thoroughly enjoy working one on one with my students because it’s a safe space for them to ask questions without feeling embarrassed and a place for kids to be themselves. I’ve helped countless students with executive function skills such as organization, task initiation, working memory and focus. Without this support, many students fall behind in reading and writing in all academic areas. I am excited to get to know your child and look forward to seeing them succeed!
