About Pranav

As someone who was accepted into Carnegie Mellon University—one of the top institutions in the country—I understand the level of dedication and academic excellence it takes to succeed. I bring that same commitment to every tutoring session. I’ve worked one-on-one with students from diverse backgrounds, including helping a Ukrainian student improve her English skills and prepare to study abroad. Through that experience, I’ve learned how to communicate clearly, adapt to different learning styles, and provide the support and structure students need to thrive. I take my role as a tutor seriously and always show up prepared, professional, and focused on helping students build both their understanding and their confidence.

About the lesson

As a math tutor, I focus on making sure students truly understand the why behind each concept, not just how to get the right answer. I adapt my teaching to each student’s learning style—whether they need step-by-step breakdowns, visual examples, or real-life applications—and I prioritize patience and clarity, especially when students feel frustrated or stuck. My experience includes tutoring through the College Board, where I was invited after scoring above the 90th percentile on the SAT Math and Reading sections, and working as an English tutor for a Ukrainian student through Engin. A typical lesson with me includes a check-in, a clear explanation of the concept, guided practice, independent problem-solving, and a review to reinforce learning. I’m especially effective with middle and high school students, SAT prep, and learners who need help building confidence in math. What sets me apart is that I don’t just know the material—I understand how to teach it in a way that’s encouraging, engaging, and tailored to each student’s needs.
