About Rayyan

I am a BA Politics student at King's College London, and I am on track to achieving a First Class degree. I have also studied at the prestigious University of California, Berkeley which is the number 1 public university in the U.S.A. I attended the highly selective Brampton Manor Academy during my A-Levels where I studied English literature, and learnt various writing techniques that I now implement in my English lessons.

About the lesson

I am a passionate and experienced tutor who understands the best approaches to teaching students depending on their age and level. My teaching method consists of identifying the student's strong and weak points to create a personalised lesson plan that targets their weaknesses. I also emphasise the importance of exam practice and regularly hold mock exams to give detailed feedback. My expert knowledge on the requirements of all major UK exam boards including WJEC, AQA, OCR and Edexcel makes sure that students are learning exactly what will help them secure top grades.

My teaching approach ensures that the learning of certain texts and topics goes alongside exam practice and exam technique revision, and this has helped all of my students achieve minimum grade 8.

What motivates me to teach English Language and Literature is not only my lifelong passion for poetry and creative writing, but also the fact that I have seen students who are initially not interested in English Literature or Language at all become excited to answer exam questions due to the outstanding progress they see after taking my lessons.

I offer lessons in various levels of English including

- GCSE English Literature and Language
- 11+ English and Verbal Reasoning
- Creative Writing and Comprehension at all Levels

I am familiar with teaching via Zoom, Skype and Google Meet, but I am flexible to adapt to any other form of online teaching. I also offer in-person tutoring.
