About Dehyan M

Hello! I’m a friendly, patient, and dedicated Tagalog tutor who enjoys helping students feel confident using Filipino in real-life conversations.

My lessons are personalized to your level, goals, and interests. Whether you are a complete beginner, learning Tagalog to communicate with Filipino family and friends, preparing for a trip to the Philippines, or simply interested in Filipino language and culture, I will guide you step by step in a relaxed and supportive environment.

I believe that making mistakes is a natural and important part of learning a language. That’s why I encourage my students to speak, ask questions, and practice without feeling afraid of making errors. I focus on practical vocabulary, pronunciation, grammar, and everyday Filipino expressions so you can use what you learn outside the classroom.

About the lesson

My teaching method and techniques
My approach to teaching Tagalog is practical, interactive, and tailored to each student’s goals. I focus on helping learners communicate naturally rather than simply memorizing vocabulary and grammar rules.

I combine conversation practice, pronunciation exercises, vocabulary building, grammar explanations, and real-life situations. I use everyday Filipino expressions and examples to help students understand how Tagalog is actually spoken in daily life. I also encourage students to speak as much as possible during lessons so they can build confidence and become comfortable using the language.

A typical lesson plan
A typical lesson starts with a short review of what we learned previously, followed by an introduction to the day’s topic. Depending on the student’s goals, we may focus on vocabulary, grammar, pronunciation, reading, or conversation.

We then practice the new material through dialogues, questions, role-playing, and practical exercises. For example, students may practice ordering food, introducing themselves, talking about their family, traveling, or having casual conversations in Tagalog.

I provide corrections and explanations throughout the lesson while keeping the atmosphere relaxed and encouraging. We finish with a brief review of the key expressions or concepts learned and suggestions for practicing them outside the lesson.

What sets me apart as a Tagalog tutor
I believe language learning should be enjoyable and useful in real life. I don't want students to feel overwhelmed by complicated grammar rules or afraid of making mistakes. Instead, I create a friendly environment where they can practice freely and gradually become more confident.

I also help students understand Filipino culture and the context behind expressions, pronunciation, and everyday communication. This allows learners to not only speak Tagalog correctly, but also communicate more naturally with Filipino friends, family, colleagues, or communities.
