About Georgiana

I'm going into my third year studying Law with Philosophy at UCD, currently on track for First Class Honors. I'm Secretary of the Law Society, UCD's biggest student society, and a keen debater, I competed at the European Universities Debating Championship last year, which taught me a lot about thinking on my feet and explaining ideas clearly. I also spent three months volunteering in a school in Cape Town, and it's genuinely what got me into helping people learn. I've moved countries and schools many times myself, so I understand firsthand what it's like to have gaps in knowledge and struggle with confidence because of it, which is probably why watching a student go from stuck to confident means so much to me.

About the lesson

Every student learns differently, so I adjust my lessons to suit how each person learns best and what they're aiming for. I try to keep things relaxed so students feel comfortable asking questions and don't feel embarrassed if they're stuck. I break concepts down step by step and use examples and practice questions along the way so things actually sink in.

A typical lesson is an hour, though I also do 30-minute revision sessions or longer ones if needed. I usually start by going over previous material, move on to new concepts, work through some examples together, then finish with practice questions and feedback.

Between tutoring and customer-facing jobs, I've developed up good communication, patience, and people skills, and I've learned how to explain things differently depending on who I'm talking to. Helping a student's confidence grow is just as important to me as their grades improving.

I teach primary, Junior Cycle, and Leaving Cert students depending on the subject, and I'm happy to work with adult learners too, whether that's brushing up on something or prepping for exams. Whatever a student needs, I build the lessons around their pace and their goals.
