About Tabatha

I’m Tabatha, an English + Math Tutor with over 5 years of teaching experience and a degree from the University of São Paulo (USP), #1 university in Latin America.

I specialize in helping students prepare for standardized tests such as the SAT, with a teaching approach that is highly personalized, strategic, and focused on results.

What makes my lessons different?

I don’t believe in wasting time studying things you already know — or spending hours on topics that won’t make a difference to your score.

Before we start, I take the time to understand your current level, your goals, your strengths, and, most importantly, the areas that are holding your score back. From there, I create personalized lessons and materials specifically for you.

Every student gets a different plan because every student needs something different.

What can you expect from my lessons?

SAT Reading & Writing: Reading comprehension, vocabulary in context, grammar, Standard English conventions, rhetorical skills, evidence-based questions, main idea, inference, and author’s purpose.

SAT Math: Problem-solving, algebra, advanced math, data analysis, problem-solving strategies, and learning how to approach the questions efficiently.

I also create my own customized materials based on each student's needs, so we can spend our time working on what will actually help you improve.

About the lesson

What happens when you start working with me?

Preparing for the SAT can feel overwhelming, especially when you don’t know exactly what you should be studying. That’s why I don’t believe in giving every student the same lessons, the same exercises, or the same study plan.

Before we officially begin, your first session with me is completely free. It’s not a “trial lesson” where we simply go through a few questions. It’s a full assessment designed to understand exactly where you are and what we need to do to get you where you want to be.

Before our first session, I’ll either ask you to send me a recent practice test or provide you with one to complete. During our first meeting, we analyze your results together. We look at the questions you missed, why you missed them, which concepts you need to strengthen, and what patterns are affecting your score.

From there, I create a 100% personalized study plan based on your current score, target score, test date, strengths, weaknesses, and available study time.

Your lessons are built around you.

I create personalized exercises and materials specifically for each student, so we can spend our time on the things that will actually make a difference in your score.

If you already understand a topic, we move on.

If you’re struggling with a specific concept, we work on it until it becomes natural.

If you keep making the same type of mistake, we identify the pattern and build a strategy to prevent it from happening again.

There is no wasted time and no generic curriculum. Every part of your preparation has a purpose.

We work with official SAT questions, carefully selected practice exercises, personalized drills, full practice tests, and detailed mistake analysis. As you progress, your study plan evolves with you.

One of the things that makes my approach different is the support you receive outside of class.

You have 24-hour support, meaning you can message me whenever you have a question, get stuck on an exercise, or simply need help understanding something you're studying. You don't have to wait until our next lesson to ask for help.

My goal is for you to always know what you're working on, why you're working on it, and how it is helping you get closer to your goal score.

More than a tutor, I want to be part of your journey.

I genuinely love working with students, especially young students who are figuring out their academic future. I care about getting you a higher score, but I also care about helping you become a more confident, independent learner.

Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to work with students with very different goals, backgrounds, and learning styles. My students have gone on to be accepted into highly competitive universities and top schools, and seeing them reach goals that once felt out of reach is one of the most rewarding parts of what I do.

I’m also not interested in making you feel like you have to be a "perfect student" to succeed.

You can come to me confused. You can make mistakes. You can have a bad practice test. You can ask the same question five times.

That’s what I’m here for.

My job is to meet you where you are, figure out where you need to go, and build the most efficient path to get you there.
