About Alex

I’m a passionate student with a deep love for English, modern literature, reading, and Latin. For me, tutoring isn’t just about drilling grammar rules or memorizing texts, it’s about unlocking the joy of learning and helping students see connections between words, ideas, and the wider world. I started teaching because I know how overwhelming school can feel when you don’t have the right guidance or when lessons feel too abstract. I want to be the tutor I wish I had when I was younger: someone who explains concepts in a way that clicks, offers patience without judgment, and adapts to each student’s style of learning. My approach is supportive but practical: we’ll tackle the tricky parts together, build skills step by step, and celebrate every milestone along the way. At the heart of it all, I want my students to walk away not just with better grades, but with confidence, curiosity, and the tools to think critically. I teach because I believe everyone has potential waiting to be unlocked, and I’d love to be part of that journey with you.

I believe every student learns differently, so I tailor lessons to match individual strengths and needs. If something doesn’t make sense right away, I’ll find another way to explain it — whether through examples, analogies, or breaking ideas down step by step. I know that subjects like literature or Latin can feel intimidating at first, but my goal is to make them approachable and even enjoyable. For English and Reading, I focus on building confidence in comprehension, grammar, and writing skills, while also showing how words connect to bigger ideas. With Modern Literature, I help students analyze themes, characters, and styles in a way that’s engaging and relevant. For Latin, I guide learners through the structure and logic of the language so it becomes less about memorization and more about discovery. What sets me apart is my balance of encouragement and practicality. I want students to walk away not only with better grades, but with lasting skills — the ability to think critically, express themselves clearly, and approach texts with insight. Above all, I keep lessons interactive and student-driven, because tutoring isn’t just about me teaching, it’s about you growing.
