About Rachel

I've been tutoring difficult subjects for three years, and working with children for even longer. I have a passion for science and I'm studying chemistry at UCLA in order to go into the field of forensics. I'm also passionate about many other things, including art, music (piano, choir), and writing.

About the lesson

Typically, I begin each session with a brief lesson on the topic. We then move into homework or practice problems. I make sure to guide the students through the questions and to the correct answers on their own so they feel confident with the material. I also aim to cultivate a relationship with the students to ensure that they feel comfortable asking any questions. I also try to make learning exciting and I tell them about why I personally love the subjects. I'm good at explaining difficult concepts, and my students enjoy that I'm personable and engaging.
