About Katie
Hi! My name is Katie and I'm a second year Maths student at the University of Warwick. I achieved 4A*s at A-Level, including Maths and Further Maths, and a 9 for Maths at GCSE.
I'm looking to tutor alongside my degree as a way of gaining teaching experience. I have worked as a Maths and English tutor at tutoring centres and would love to continue this kind of work whilst I'm at uni.
I feel that many people are put off by Maths because concepts aren't explained in a way they understand. I want to work with you to find the explanation that works!

In our first session we will discuss what level you are working at, what areas need attention, and what style of tutoring will suit you best. For example:
- I can work as a support to your school classes. We will discuss what you have been working on and I can go over any areas you aren't sure of.
- I can work to teach you content ahead of your school classes. I will teach new content so that when it appears in class you feel more confident about it and can spend the class time practicing the topic.
My teaching style will vary with each student, but generally a combination of explanation, worked examples and practice questions works best. I am open to trying different teaching methods to find what suits you best and this can be discussed in the first session.
