About Tom
With over five years’ of tutoring experience, I specialise in GCSE and National 5, as well as A Level and Higher Mathematics. I am currently studying Economics at the University of Edinburgh, combining strong subject knowledge with a clear, supportive teaching style to help students build confidence and achieve their academic goals.
I achieved three A* grades at A Level and I am passionate about making Maths engaging and accessible. My lessons are well-structured and focused on developing genuine understanding, effective problem-solving skills, and strong exam technique.
All tuition is delivered online via Microsoft Teams and is carefully tailored to each student’s individual needs. This may include targeted exam preparation, strengthening core mathematical foundations, or stretching students beyond the curriculum to support top-grade ambitions.

I focus on developing clear conceptual understanding alongside strong problem-solving and exam technique. Lessons are broken down into manageable steps, using exam-style questions and past papers to build confidence and familiarity with mark schemes.

Perfect! I initially spoke with many maths tutors, the key for me was finding someone that my daughter could relate to, when I spoke with Tom I found that he listened and adjusted to Freya's particular set of challenges. Both my wife and I noticed an instant change in Freya's confidence and energy to the subject which translated to a very happy outcome in her maths exam. We will be using Tom again and cannot reccomend him highly enough. 10/10
