About Shirley

Studied at University of British Columbia, majored in Biology and minored in English. Worked with many ESL students to target improvement in grammar and writing skills. Can work with English, Social Studies and various other science subjects. Also provides leadership and career consulting such as public speaking or debates, resume and cover letters, interviewing skills, stress management, etc. Helped with many students to attain their target Universities or professional internships. Enjoy learning and self-improvement. Also work with spectrum children as a Behavior Interventionist and is an active TED-Ed Youth facilitator.

About the lesson

Will provide evaluation and set goals together. Based on the level, we will set plans together on how to proceed (i.e., frequency). We will work mainly on the ability to have better comprehension and writing coherence, and of course, grammar. Writing: construction, grammar, diction Speaking: enunciation and accent, intonation for various types of public speaking At the meantime, I also bring in different topics to help students learn about culture and can bring consultation on business professional inquiries.

Details

For most of my grade 10s and above, I normally charge $45 per hour. There is already a discount on my hourly rate based on my experience. As for transportation fee, it will be based on distance and minimum at $10 per session. Recommend each session to be at least an hour to an hour and a half and strongly recommend in-person learning.
