About Shawna

Arithmetic fluency, coordinate plane work and basic algebra skills are the cornerstones of the support I provide to you. You might arrive convinced you are not a math person, but my work as a graduate of the University of Southern California reveals that you are simply missing the right explanations. I have helped 500 students from middle school to college bridge these gaps over the past 10 years.

My role is to help honors students and homeschoolers alike navigate challenging word problems with steady confidence. Most learners who struggle with math eventually find that these concepts become manageable with a methodical approach.

It is genuinely satisfying to watch a student dismantle a complex percentage calculation. Helping someone see the logic behind a measurement or a graph remains the most rewarding part of my career. I truly enjoy turning confusion into clarity for every learner.

Pencil scratching against paper creates the rhythmic sound of a student finally connecting the dots on a coordinate plane. These sessions function by identifying the precise moment where a logic chain breaks, allowing us to reconstruct the mathematical framework together.

Drawing on my BS Mathematics degree, I prioritize clear explanations that make difficult concepts feel logical rather than abstract. You will find that my approach emphasizes steady, methodical progress instead of rushed memorization.

By working through geometry basics or data sets, we ensure that the underlying structure is sound. We track your progress against clear goals so you always see exactly how far you have come.

My 10 years of experience have shown that students who feel lost simply need a different perspective. Even the most intimidating word problems become solvable when broken into smaller pieces. You will find that the anxiety fades as your skills sharpen. The process is straightforward.
