Hi, I’m Khai Pham! As a current college sophomore who recently navigated the exact same middle and high school math tracks you are in right now, I understand firsthand the pressure, fast pacing, and stress of modern math classes. My passion for math led me to earn 5s on both the AP Calculus AB and AP Calculus BC exams, and for the past two years, I have turned that mastery into a successful tutoring practice.
My approach to tutoring goes beyond helping you pass your next quiz. My Background
Hi! I am a current college sophomore with two years of math tutoring experience. Having recently completed high school and mastered the curriculum, scoring 5s on both the AP Calculus AB and BC exams. I know exactly what it takes to succeed in modern math classrooms.
Who I Teach
I specialize in tutoring middle and high school students (grades 6–12). I am open to all learning levels, including:
Middle School: Pre-Algebra and foundational math.
High School: Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2, Trigonometry, Precalculus, and Calculus.

Every math teacher is different. Some classes are homework-heavy, while others base your entire grade on high-stakes exams. Some teachers lecture fast, while others expect you to learn the pacing on your own. During my time in high school, I experienced almost every type of math teacher possible. I learned exactly how to adjust my study methods depending on a teacher's specific style, and I apply that knowledge to the students I tutor. We will not only target the specific areas where you struggle, but we will also break down your classroom's unique environment. This tailored approach ensures you feel completely prepared and gives you a distinct advantage over your peers.
Focusing on Concepts over Formulas
Too many students are taught to just memorize formulas and plug in equations without understanding why. I tutor to build a deep strength in the actual concepts of math, which is usually the root of the issue. Once we build a solid foundation in the core concepts, memorization becomes unnecessary. When you truly understand the logic behind the math, every single problem becomes easy to handle.

The "I Do, We Do, You Do" Method: I demonstrate a concept, we solve the next problem together, and you master the final one independently.
Active Recall: I ask guided questions that lead you to the solution, rather than just lecturing at you.
Visual Learning: We use graphs like Desmos to make functions easy to visualize.
A Typical 60-Minute Lesson
First 5 Minutes: Homework review and addressing immediate questions.
Next 15 Minutes: Introduction of new concepts.
Next 20 Minutes: Guided and independent practice.
Next 10 Minutes: Pinpointing and fixing recurring mistakes.
Last 10 Minutes: Wrap-up, assigning more practice problems, and a quick preview of next lesson.
