About Yash
I am a college student at Lehigh University majoring in Mechanical Engineering and teaching is one of my hobbies. I have taken advanced math courses all throughout high school and well into university and have scored pretty well on all of them. I like to help kids with math because I used to hate it when I was younger. However, a teacher at my middle school changed my perspective on it by teaching me cool tips and tricks about how numbers work. I always try to be that type of role model for other people because of the effect that one has had on my life.

I love teaching kids and helping them develop their math skills. In my three years as a math tutor, I have learned many techniques to help struggling students with topics they find difficult and have had many successes in helping kids get over their dislike of math. I typically like to start the first 1-2 sessions with diagnostics to determine what their skill levels are and then communicate with them what they want out of this partnership (i.e. better understanding of concepts, homework help, to get ahead, etc.). This allows me to tailor lessons to students of every age level and understanding level. In addition, studies have shown that by giving students this level of initiative in their learning, they are more likely to be more open to the idea. I can confidently teach concepts from kindergarten to calculus 1/AB
