About Charmaine

I have a knack for teaching and a personality that suits a student who needs patience. I am not a mathematician but someone who also struggled. You will be learning in a private and safe environment. I have been working with students for 15 years +, who find math a struggle for various reasons. Oftentimes I am told of experiences of humiliation and embarrassment, this is not acceptable. Many adults are not able to tell time, make or check their change, measure recipe items, calculate how much they will have to pay at the checkout. These moments are sometimes unbearable and can be costly. I want to help these people feel comfortable and not alone and that help is here. There is no pace too slow, there is no learning style that cannot be found, no matter what the reason for difficulty, there WILL be success for you.

About the lesson

The lessons provided will be based on individual needs. The pace of each concept and when it is time to move on, will not be set until the student is fully ready. Learning should not be stressful and embarrassing. Many students no matter the age, have dyscalculia, developmental delay, head/brain injury, or for any other reasons, have difficulty with math and or reading and comprehension. I want to create a safe, respectful place with my lessons that are personally tailored to meet the student's needs. You can count on patience and understanding, delivered with respect.

This first lesson offered with Charmaine will allow you to get to know each other and clearly specify your needs for your next lessons.

Details

In-home lessons are $30 per hour. Zoom lessons are $20 per hour. A small additional fee applies for distances over 20 km.

There are special rates for sessions at same address with more than one child during the hour.
