About Mina

With seven years of tutoring experience, I’ve had the privilege of helping students from all walks of life reach their academic and personal goals. I know math and programming can feel intimidating, but I firmly believe that with the right approach combined with consistency, anyone can learn it. I create a welcoming, structured environment where students can feel comfortable tackling tough concepts at their own pace. Every session is tailored to each student's unique needs, with a focus on providing feedback and guidance that encourages growth without feeling overwhelming. Whether it’s middle or high school math or helping professionals transition into tech with programming skills, I’m dedicated to offering support that’s both professional and approachable. I believe in celebrating every achievement, no matter how small, because these wins help build the confidence needed to succeed in the long run.

About the lesson

My tutoring style is rooted in deep empathy because I understand that learning can be challenging. I tailor each session to fit individual learning needs—everyone learns differently, so I strive to find the right balance of feedback and accountability without overwhelming my tutees. Celebrating every win, no matter how small, is key in maintaining motivation. Each step counts toward meeting learning goals.

A typical lesson begins with a check-in to identify gaps in understanding, focusing on reinforcing fundamentals and building on them rather than relying on rote memorization. I break down complex problems into smaller, manageable parts, guiding students to verbalize their understanding, which helps solidify difficult concepts.

With seven years of experience tutoring math to students with various learning needs, strengths, and backgrounds, I specialize in middle and high school math at both remedial and advanced levels. Additionally, with seven years of experience as a software engineer and about two years of experience as a web development instructor, I provide programming lessons for professionals learning automation or transitioning into tech roles as individual contributors.
