About Celeste

Having graduated from Rice University with a degree in Cell Biology and Genetics, I have a strong background in science, particularly biology. Currently, I work at an otolaryngology clinic and perform cancer biology research at MD Anderson. I love teaching and working with students to help them become more confident in their academic abilities. I have been teaching and tutoring for over 5 years, and have worked with students of all ages on subjects including math, science, and SAT test prep. For each student, I prepare and individualized plan that we go over together to ensure their success. I'd be excited to help you or your child succeed academically while enjoying learning!

I started tutoring when I was a senior in high school at a test prep center where I taught summer algebra and biology classes as well as homework help for middle schoolers. I have also worked as a private SAT, math, and science tutor with several students. I also led an afterschool program where I taught engaging, hands-on science curriculum to elemntary school students. Even before I started teaching, I volunteered as a math tutor in high school. I have always had an affinity for teaching and believe that having a great teacher is crucial to a student's development.

With a degree in cell biology and genetics from Rice, I have undergone a rigorous curriculum in science, so I am able to help any student with their academic needs in science.

About the lesson

When working with students, I always start with a consultation where we go over the students goals, timeline, and schedule. From there, I provide a diagnostic test to help me understand where the student is at. Then, I develop a study plan that I review with my student. Each student is different, so my approach to teaching will change with their learning style.

I have worked with students from elementary school to high school. I enjoy working with students of all ages.
