About Ianis
I am a Medical Student at the University of St Andrews with a strong academic background in Maths and Science. Gaining entry into Medicine required high performance across multiple disciplines, disciplined study habits and consistent academic excellence — the same standards I bring to my tutoring.
Throughout my education, I developed a structured and analytical approach to learning. I understand not only how to solve problems, but how to think through them clearly and methodically. This allows me to break down complex topics into simple, logical steps that students can confidently follow.
I am professional, reliable and focused on measurable progress. I prepare thoroughly for every session, track improvement over time and ensure students leave each lesson with clearer understanding and specific next steps.

My approach to tutoring is structured, exam-focused and built around measurable progress. I do not believe in passive learning. Every lesson is designed to actively develop understanding, exam technique and confidence under timed conditions.
I begin by identifying gaps in knowledge using targeted diagnostic questions. Once weaknesses are clear, we rebuild from foundations upward, ensuring the student fully understands the core principles before moving to higher-level problem solving. I break complex topics into clear, logical steps and constantly check understanding through guided practice.
A typical lesson lasts 60 minutes. The structure is consistent:
• Concept explanation with worked examples
• Guided practice together
• Independent exam-style questions
• Immediate feedback and correction
• Clear action points for improvement
Where appropriate, I incorporate past-paper questions early so students become comfortable with mark schemes and command words. My aim is not just understanding the content, but mastering how to earn marks.
I am a Medical Student at the University of St Andrews with a strong academic background in Maths and Science. Through medicine, I have developed analytical problem-solving skills and the ability to explain complex material clearly and logically. I have experience supporting GCSE students across different abilities, from those aiming to secure a pass to high-achieving students targeting top grades.
