About Ashley

I have been teaching now for 7 years. I have taught kindergarten, first grade, third grade, and fifth grade. I have tutored math for the last 12 years. One unique thing about me is I am an adult who stutters, but never when teaching. I do use this aspect to inspire my students to never let anything stop them in life from reaching their goals.

About the lesson

I feel every child is unique so I get to know the child and family, making my lessons engaging for them. For example, if the child is struggling in math but loves football, I would tie football into my lessons to help make the lessons relatable and engaging for that student. I typically start with a quick challenge, then explain the concept and then provide time for them to practice with support from myself.
