About James

I am a full time engineer, and graduate with a BS in Biomedical Engineering and BS/MS in Mechanical Engineering Honors Student at Rochester Institute of Technology. I graduated with a 4.00 GPA and have taken many types of higher level math. Some of these classes involve, but are not limited to any level of high school math, Multivariable and Vector Calculus, Differential Equations, Boundary Value Problems, Statistics and Design of Experiments. I have over 9 years of experience tutoring in math, physics, chemistry, and more. My favorite subjects to teach are math and physics as I use them in my daily professional life as a full-time engineer.

About the lesson

My teaching method very closely associates with a music teacher I've come to really trust in life. Their mentality is that every student has a very unique way of learning, and that the more the student and teacher can work together to achieve and strengthen that ability, the better they can become at learning. I like to learn how a student learns most efficiently, and then teach them up using that technique that fits them best. In addition to a very specific approach to each individual, I like to take time where it is needed with different topics, I will never just throw one example at a student and hope they grasp it before moving on, because learning is very different from just doing a practice problem.
