About Sharannya

Hi, I’m Sharannya Chakravorty!
As a current student at John Monash Science School, I have firsthand experience with the challenges and demands of the selective school entrance process. I achieved excellent results in Mathematics, English and other academic areas, demonstrating a strong aptitude and solid understanding of these subjects. Having received superiors in Science Reasoning, Numerical Reasoning, and Maths & Science Writing, I possess the skills and expertise to effectively guide students through complex concepts and strengthen their problem-solving abilities.

My success at JMSS has provided me with the strategies, skills, and insights needed to help other students excel. As a tutor, I am dedicated to sharing my expertise and passion for mathematics, English and science, guiding students through complex concepts, problem-solving methods, and effective preparation techniques to help them succeed in their own academic journey.

About the lesson

Each lesson is carefully planned to maximise understanding, engagement, and progress. We begin with me introducing the topic, explaining key concepts, and providing step-by-step walkthroughs and examples to ensure students grasp the material clearly. After this introduction, students spend around 20 minutes working independently on exercises that reinforce what they have just learned, allowing them to practice applying concepts on their own while I provide guidance when needed. We then review homework and previous work, highlighting important points, addressing mistakes, and discussing strategies for improvement. In the final 5–10 minutes, I provide feedback to parents, summarising the student’s progress, strengths, and areas that need more attention.
