About Rosa

- BA Music student Oxford University
- Winner of the Britten Music Award 2022, OU
- Soloist in the Church Stretton Music festival 2018, 2022
- Soloist for the Isis ensemble, Oxford, 2021
- Member of the Amadeus Orchestra
- Member of the Oxford University Orchestra
- Have studied with teachers from the Royal Academy and the Royal College, currently under the guidance of Matthew Souter - former principal of Viola at the Royal Academy

I have been playing the viola since I was 5 and I love it! It was not always this way - when I started learning I found the instrument difficult and didn't really enjoy it. I want to go into teaching to help others to love playing as much as I do now -it's brilliant to see someone flourish and develop musically. But I also realise that playing an instrument can be frustrating and challenging - both things that I have experienced - and so I will be patient and kind and my aim will be to make lessons as fun and enjoyable as possible!

About the lesson

Lessons can be 30 mins or an hour. We will work on building foundational skills through starting each lesson with scales or studies, concentrating on form and technique. After which we will look at pieces and enjoy working on them together.

For all ages and all levels.

Looking forward to meeting you!

Rosa as a teacher is great fun and highly reliable. She has taught young children but would be equally good with adults who want to improve or learn to play a new instrument.

Rosa secured scholarships at all the main music colleges including the Royal Academy and the Royal College of music. In 2021 she took up a place to study music at Oxford University where she has recently performed solos with the acclaimed Isis ensemble. She is a currently a member of the Amadeus orchestra for talented young professionals and for many years she was first viola at Wells Cathedral Music School.

Rosa is an inspirational person - both in her music teaching, her performance and her overall approach to life. I can’t recommend her highly enough.
