About Samuel

I'm a high-achieving student tutor with a perfect 36 on the ACT, a deep academic foundation, and a passion for helping others master math and science. I've taken 8 AP exams over just two years—including Calculus BC and AP Chemistry—and am continuing to expand my credentials with more advanced coursework. I’ve been competing in math since middle school and was a MathCounts National Qualifier, Top 16 Finalist at the National Science Bowl, and a USNCO (U.S. National Chemistry Olympiad) National Qualifier. These experiences have sharpened my ability to break down complex topics and explain them clearly—skills I bring to every tutoring session. My goal is to help students not only improve their grades or test scores, but truly understand the "why" behind what they're learning. I work with middle school, high school, and early college students in math (up to Calculus BC) and science (through AP Chemistry), and I bring a results-driven, supportive, and professional approach to each lesson.

Teaching Method and Techniques
I believe in tailoring every lesson to the student’s unique learning style and goals. I focus on building deep conceptual understanding alongside problem-solving efficiency. I use clear explanations, guided practice, and Socratic questioning to help students not only learn the material, but think like mathematicians or scientists.

A Typical Lesson Plan
Each session begins with a quick warm-up or review to reinforce past material. We then dive into new topics or specific areas where the student needs help. I break down concepts with examples, guide students through practice problems, and finish with tips or tricks to build confidence and speed. Lessons may include real-world applications, ACT-style questions, or AP-level problems depending on the student’s level.

What Sets Me Apart as a Tutor
I scored a 36 on the ACT and can tutor math through Calculus BC and science through AP Chemistry. I know what it’s like to be a student aiming for top scores, and I bring that perspective to every session. My tutoring is results-driven, and I prioritize both academic success and long-term understanding.

Who the Lessons Are For
My lessons are for middle school, high school, or early college students who want help in math (Pre-Algebra through Calculus BC) or science (middle school science through AP Chemistry). Whether you're catching up, aiming for a 5 on the AP exam, or pushing for a perfect ACT score, I can help you reach your goals.
